Today was one of those days for me - a day where I had so much to do but no motivation to get it done. The weather was sunny outside but I felt sluggish and cold. So I made the decision to put my projects on the back burner and bring Spring into my life a little early. So out went the winter scene and in came some Spring accents.
I decided to keep the turquoise in the living room and add in my Spring green.
I really love the cool, fresh combination of those colors together.
I also decided to go to Salvation Army today in search of a small round table. I found one that is solid and well built. It could use a paint job or to be refinished, but for now I'm happy with how it looks. When we moved into our small, temporary apartment I decided to forego a table in order to gain more usable space. However, I have missed having a table to sit with our kids and grand-kids and enjoy a meal or a puzzle. I think it's well worth the space and I really look forward to sitting around it and enjoying meals with our family. All it needs is the other black chairs from our storage in Vancouver to be complete.
Sometimes I get frustrated with our lack of space and I miss having a home to paint when I want or to tear something apart so i can make it better. When I start to feel this way, it is time for me to make a small change with what I do have. Today, these changes did the trick for me. Next week, you never know! Sometimes I still consider painting more walls here knowing full well that I'll have to paint them back when we are finally able to get into our house.
If you're feeling tired, sluggish or discontented, I hope that you are inspired to make even small changes that allow what you have to feel new again. Consider what might not be working for you and think about ways that you can change those things. Finally, I hope that you find "Spring" in your heart even when the weather doesn't cooperate!
