"Transportation" lamp redo

This week I've been working on my Grandsons' bedroom.  Since one of them has a car bed and the other has a train bed, it seemed fitting that we would go with a theme of planes, trains and automobiles.

I've had this cute little lamp for years.  I decided this little cutie would look great made-over for my sweeties.

I printed off some images I liked.  I ended up using this airplane but went with another car.

I simply cut them out and traced them onto the lamp shade.  I outlined everything with a black sharpie.  Using small paint brushes and craft paint, I carefully painted in the images.  I used Rustoleum's red satin spray paint to paint the base.

The only thing I bought for this little project was a can of spray paint.  While I was at it, I used the paint to give some frames more color.  

I found some more images from a google search and printed them out to create some colorful artwork.

It doesn't have to cost a lot to give a room color and personality - just a little time and creativity!
